New Faculty: Beth Gaffga
Although a familiar face to many of our students, we are excited to welcome back to our community Beth Gaffga as our new Middle School English Teacher. Beth has a B.A. in History from Williams College and an M.Ed. from DePaul University.
Beth is a passionate educator who is interested in helping our young people learn and grow. She shared, "I am inspired by challenging students to ask questions and be curious. I love engaging young people in conversations about our world and our country as they grow to become future leaders. I love the energy of middle school life and the unexpected fun that a school day can bring."
In her free time, Beth enjoys watching World Cup soccer, hiking, snowshoeing in Colorado, and keeping up with her "high energy" five-year-old daughter. You'll probably catch her reading a crime novel or listening to a podcast and - as an adventure traveler - she has camped on a glacier, kayaked with whales, and hiked 100 miles around Mt. Blanc.
Middle School students share ways to celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day this weekend and on Monday, October 11.
We're so pleased to welcome 32 new faculty & staff to Breck this fall!
Later this week will be the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the twin towers in New York City, a significant and traumatic event for Americans and people around the world. Melody Fox Ahmed, the Director for Global Studies at the National Cathedral School invites educators to use the occasion for both remembrance and education.
