MLK Day 2020 Featured Speaker is Leah Hernandez
We are pleased to announce our guest speaker for our upcoming MLK Day All-School Chapel on Tuesday, January 21. Leah Hernandez is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University and grew up in Pomona, California. Leah has successfully published her debut book, Try God, which has been recognized in the 2017 Essence Festival and Rolling Out Magazine. She is also the CEO and Founder of Young Authors Publishing, a book publishing company that empowers children in low income communities to write and publish their own book. Royalties from their books are directed to a savings account for each Young Author. Leah aspires to continue to impact the lives of others by educating them on financial literacy and providing access to capital through book publishing and business ownership.

During Black History Month, we are featuring Black, African, and African American identifying members of the Breck School community for our Meet a Mustang interviews. This week the Meet a Mustang feature is Jaren Morton '21, who started at Breck in the fall of 2016.
A group of Breck Upper School students were recognized for their writing in the Minnesota Scholastic Arts & Writing Regional Awards. Students submitted poetry, critical and personal essays, flash fiction, and shorts stories. Congratulations to our outstanding writers!
