Middle School Closing: Congratulations to the Class of 2023
Middle School officially closed the year with a ceremony in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit on June 3.
Pearl Perry '26, Teddy Koch '25, La'Nae Gant '24, and Sydney McDaniel '23 offered grade-level reflections on the year, recalling their transition to the middle school, the trip to Washington D.C., their experience from the Be A Mustang program, and their perfect 8th grade speech idea.
"We've all come to our last realization for the summer — we're entering a new chapter — non-uniform day, first dance, many of us will be driving," shared McDaniel. "I know we are all a little scared and wonder how to make it to high school, but if we can make it through four years of middle school at Breck, we're going to crush the next four years of high school."
Following the reflections, James Hicks and Alison Mitchell presented their 8th grade speeches. The Grade 8 Chamber Singers also performed "We Go Together."
Middle School Director Sky Fauver presented the following awards:
- Award for Effort: Kendall White and Zoe Roberts
- Award for Sportsmanship: Emmett Wolf and Sydney McDaniel
- Award for Leadership: Amira Sinclair and Gus Culligan
- Award for Academic Excellence: Alden Keller and Trisha Samba
Finally, the ceremony closed with the presentation of the Class of 2023. Congratulations!
