Chess Teams Compete in Winter Tournament
Thirteen students who play on Breck Chess Teams competed in the Winter Grade-Level Chess Tournament on Saturday, December 7.
Our first-grade team of Cole Hester, William Lin, and Gavin Caldwell placed second overall. Cole Hester placed took fourth place as an individual and William Lin was awarded the Novice Trophy for placing 6th.
Our second-grade team of Aarav Katira, Luvanda Anderson, Alex Ahluwalia, Ethan Melnick, and Miles Green took first place! Individually, Aarav Katira placed second.
And our fourth-grade team of Jack Wade, Reese Melnick, and Jonah Getnick placed fourth as a team.
Our sixth-grade team of Chase Wilkinson and Joshua Melnick placed third, with Chase Wilkinson coming in second, individually.
