Breck Welcomes Newest Inductees into Cum Laude Society

Breck is proud to announce the induction of its newest members into the Cum Laude Society, an honor that recognizes students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and a deep commitment to learning, integrity, and community support.

This spring, a select group of Breck juniors and seniors joined the ranks of Cum Laude, joining a tradition that dates back more than a century. Founded in 1906, the Cum Laude Society is often described as the independent school equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa. With chapters at select schools across the United States and abroad, Cum Laude recognizes academic excellence, integrity, and scholarship in secondary education. Breck Alumna, Simone Hardeman-Jones '98, addressed the group as the evening's keynote speaker.

Membership in the society is reserved for students who not only perform at the highest academic levels, but who also model character, honor, and a love of learning. At Breck, Cum Laude inductees are selected by faculty members in accordance with the society’s national guidelines, with an emphasis on integrity, curiosity, and perseverance as much as grade point average.

We are proud to celebrate these students and all they have accomplished.
