Lower School Schedule

At a Glance

The Lower School day starts and ends with community time in the classroom and is filled with blocks of focused learning, intentional movement breaks, and a robust specialist rotation. The days then follow a six-day rotation in order to minimize the disruption of holidays and to align with the Middle and Upper School schedules. This alignment facilitates cross-divisional collaboration.

Grade-level schedules are then built based on the learning and developmental needs of students. For example, common math time across third grade allows for flexible grouping across classrooms. Specialist time is informed by professional standards and best practices for elementary world language curriculum, physical education, and visual and performing arts.
