In response to our objective to expand opportunities for students to successfully pursue advanced scholarship across all divisions and departments, English Department Head Cynthia Lotze writes about developing an English research pedagogy for Breck and leading the inaugural year of Advanced English Scholarship & Research (AESR).

Develop partnerships and student exchanges with exceptional international schools

In response to our objective to improve opportunities for students to engage in community and global partnerships and connect with our talented and inspiring alumni, Breck will launch a transformative partnership with the American School of Madrid (ASM) in the Fall of 2025. This initiative will offer Breck sophomores the unique opportunity to experience the vibrant culture of Madrid, while simultaneously welcoming ASM students to Breck each fall for a semester abroad program.

Expand entrepreneurship and internship opportunities across the curriculum

In response to our objective within this area of the Strategic Plan (Create new, and enhance current, authentic learning experiences), Breck students will experience new, authentic learning experiences and expanding entrepreneurship and internship opportunities across the curriculum. Students participated in a May Program internship this spring focused on Breck’s Comprehensive Site Plan and opportunities to develop Breck’s campus.

In response to our objective within this area of the Strategic Plan, continuously evolve our world-class P-12 academic program, this story highlights how Breck faculty have engaged in a transformative curriculum alignment process that makes learning visible, strengthens skill progression across grade levels, and ensures a purposeful, connected academic journey from Preschool to Advanced Scholarship.
