Tents of Witness exhibit at Breck
This week, Breck is hosting the Tents of Witness: Genocide and Conflict exhibit in the Salas and Middle School Commons. The exhibit is an initiative by the Mitchell-Hamline School of Law World Without Genocide initiative. According to their website, this exhibit is a "multimedia, multicultural, and multigenerational exhibit designed to educate people about genocide; explain the causes and consequences of genocide; present action steps to prevent it; and remember those in our own communities who have fled from these atrocities and whose families and communities have been destroyed."
This exhibit was organized by Jed Peterson '19 in order to support the 8th-grade curriculum as well as raise awareness of genocide and the refugee crisis in our world.
On Wednesday, November 15, the Human Rights Club will host World without Genocide Executive Director Dr. Ellen Kennedy in the Upper School Library for a presentation on the Global Refugee Crisis. The event will last about an hour and refreshments will be available.
