College Counseling

As a college-preparatory school, Breck maintains a comprehensive College Counseling office to manage functions such as providing resources to students and parents, sponsoring information sessions and lectures, managing standardized testing related to the college application process, counseling students and their families about the college search and overseeing applications.

The process begins formally in the junior year, when most students and families make their first individual appointments. Complete information is provided to Breck families in a number of ways, including the online service Naviance.

Breck's college counseling office also sponsors visits by representatives from more than 150 colleges and universities throughout the school year. Seniors and, in some cases, juniors are encouraged to meet with representatives of colleges that are of interest during the school day. During the first two weeks of October 2007, for example, more than 70 different college rep visits were sponsored by Breck.
