Social & Emotional Support
Breck’s support services department provides short-term counseling as needed for students and their parents on a broad range of individual and developmental concerns. The department also provides teachers with resources for health, chemical abuse education and sexuality curriculum offerings. A full time counselor is on staff for each division.
Counselors
Our counselors provide support for students and families that may include individual counseling, small skill-based groups, classroom presentation, informal assessment, parent education and consultation and referrals to community resources. A variety of lessons and programs have been developed to address a wide range of topics to support students’ social/emotional health and academic success.
Consulting Psychologist
A consulting psychologist is available two half days per week to provide support for Upper School students and families. Services include assessment, emotional/behavioral support and parenting information and consultation. Students and parents may contact the psychologist through the Upper School administrative assistant.
Deans
Deans in all divisions support the social, emotional and behavioral needs of students. They assist with concerns and issues, provide coaching and feedback to students and help students to make healthy, positive, responsible choices.
