Support Services Staff
Annette Bruscino, Admissions/Diagnostic Testing Coordinator
Annette is a licensed school psychologist who interviews prospective candidates for preschool, kindergarten and first grade, coordinates the school-wide admissions testing program, and provides diagnostic testing services for children experiencing learning and/or academic problems. She holds a BS from Florida State University and an M.Ed. and Ed.S. from the University of Florida.
Jan Arvidson, Administrative Assistant
Jan supports the Upper School and Testing departments and also assists the Admissions and College Counseling departments in planning, preparing, administering, scoring and processing admissions tests and school-wide testing programs (e.g., ERBs).
Lower School
Cathy Preissing, Lower School Learning Consultant/
Tutoring Coordinator
Cathy coordinates tutors, consults with staff and parents regarding individual students, observes students and works with teachers to develop classroom interventions, assists in the development of accommodation plans and serves as Breck liaison to special education services in the local public school district. She holds a B.S. from Northern Illinois University and an M.A. from St. Mary’s University.
Lisa Lokke, Lower School Counselor
Lisa is dedicated to working with students, parents, faculty and staff to provide support to ensure the healthy social, emotional and intellectual development of each child. She holds a B.A. from the College of St. Scholastica and an M.Ed. from Sam Houston State University.
Julia Kugland, Language Arts Resource Instructor
Julia works with individual and small groups of students to address learning needs in reading, writing, and spelling, consults with and provides assessment information to classroom teachers to facilitate the development of plans that address needs, and consults with faculty in the evaluation and development of language arts curriculum.
Jacqueline Keepers, Lower School Math Resource Instructor
Jackie collaborates with grade-level teams to identify and assess students for enrichment and enhancement needs, develops and teaches math enrichment curriculum to small groups, researches and communicates mathematical resources, and coordinates a task force that researches new math curricula. She holds a BS from Northland College and teaching certificate from the University of California-Fresno.
Middle School
Katy Pearson, Middle School Counselor
Katy counsels Middle School students on social and emotional issues, provides resources to parents and partners with them to support children, advises faculty members and develops policies that directly impact the Middle School culture. She has a BS from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, an MS from Minnesota State University – Mankato, and an MA from the University of Minnesota.
Jay Rainville, Middle School Resource Instructor
Jay provides support for academic success and strengthening reading, organizational and time-management skills. He collaborates with students, support staff and parents to help unlock student success and achievement. A licensed teacher, he has a reading specialist license, an MA in instruction and a BS in social studies, all from Saint Mary's University.
Middle and Upper Schools
Claire Blanchette, LP, NCSP, Learning Consultant, Tutoring Coordinator
A licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist, Claire serves as the learning consultant and tutoring coordinator for the Middle and Upper Schools.
In those capacities, she works with individual students to address learning needs, consults with faculty and parents regarding individual student needs, writes accommodation plans for students with special learning needs, coordinates audiobook access for Breck students, and hires, schedules and supervises Breck’s Middle and Upper School tutors.
Claire holds a B.A. from the University of Minnesota, an M.A. from St. Mary’s University and an Ed.S. from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Upper School
Staci Prior, Upper School Counselor
Staci works directly with students by providing counseling and referrals for their emotional and psychological well being. She assists the faculty in helping understand student's specific needs. She also supports families by providing consultation and information for resources and specialists. Staci is certified in both school counseling and psychology. She attended Baylor University for the majority of her undergraduate studies, and earned her B.A. and M.S. from Eastern Washington University.
Carey Sirianni, Upper School Resource Instructor
Carey provides direct instruction, mentoring and academic support, including organizational support, to Upper School students, collaborates and communicates with teachers in support of students, provides group instruction in the area of study skills, and observes students in classroom settings. She holds BS and MS degrees from Oregon State University.
