Wright Awarded Sabbatical
In his announcement, Head of School Edward Kim explained Alice's sabbatical proposal this way:
"I am delighted to let you know that Alice Wrightās proposal for a 2010-11 sabbatical has been approved. Alice will embark on a year of study and travel organized around three components she calls the āSā factor: Science, Spanish and Service. She will combine all three by living and working at Common Hope in Antigua, Guatemala, an organization that serves the native population with education, farming techniques and other services, and traveling to Belize, Roatan, Honduras, Chile and Puerto Rico to study both geographical features and Spanish language and culture. She will also take Spanish lessons through the University Language Center and visit bilingual schools in the Twin Cities, Chicago and Milwaukee areas. Please join me in congratulating Alice on her proposal and wishing her an inspiring sabbatical year ahead."
