Scientists Qualify for State and Beyond

2008 Twin Cities Regional Science Fair Awards

The entire Advanced Science Research team, nine strong, will be moving to state competition after a strong performance at the recent regional science fair.

Madelaine Taft-Ferguson, Daniel Mokhtari and Stephen Trusheim were selected to present their research at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), which will be held mid-May in Atlanta. Emily Nimmer and Siddharth Damania were selected as alternates to ISEF.

Breck students won many special awards, including the following:

• Emily Nimmer, first place research paper
• Siddharth Damania, Nicholas Derrico, Daniel Mokhtari, Emily Nimmer, Madelaine Taft-Ferguson and Stephen Trusheim, presentation at Academy of Science Junior Science and Humanities Symposium
• Xin Li, $1700 University of Minnesota research fellowship
