Sharon Mazion, Lower School music instructor and Performing Arts department head, traveled to Greenville, S.C., to lead a two-day guest-musician workshop with students at Christ Church Episcopal School followed by an all-day hands-on teacher workshop for music teachers. After teaching for 36 years with more than two decades at Breck, Lower School Technology Coordinator Dave Kust continues his learning in a topic he is passionate about: science, specifically the study of the Monarch Butterfly. Girls Golf The Girls Golf team took fifth place at state. The team included Allyse Hogan ’20, Annie Johnston ’17, Margie Johnston ’18, Alayna Simonds ’18, Amelia Simonds ’18, and Grace Zumwinkle ’17. Amelia took 14th place overall with a two-day score of 165, and Grace Zumwinkle took 15th place with a two-day score of 166. Four students from Breck School’s Advanced Science Research program attended the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) held in Los Angeles, Calif., on May 13 through 19. Twenty-one Breck students were named 2017 Minnesota Scholars of Distinction or Meritorious Performers in the areas of STEM, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, and Leadership on May 11.
