Thank you for your interest in Breck School. I am delighted that you want to learn more about the programs, places and people that make up this remarkable school.

Thoughtful innovation is the hallmark of the school’s academic program, which blends traditional and progressive elements to create a liberal arts curriculum that is challenging, meaningful and engaging. Signature programs include Minnesota’s first K-12 Chinese language sequence, a comprehensive service learning initiative, advanced student research programs and an evolving multicultural curriculum that is uniquely Breck. A wide range of co-curricular opportunities in athletics and performing arts enhance the Breck experience, which features an emphasis on character development and a social consciousness that help to build and enrich living communities.

Welcoming, inclusive and ecumenical in spirit, Breck is thoroughly grounded in its Episcopal identity and spirituality, nurtured by common celebrations and experiences. The school’s mission, values and progressive educational orientation all flow from its Episcopal roots, which are particularly evident in Breck’s embrace of diversity, deliberately created by the school and the multiple perspectives that the students bring to school every day. By any measure, Breck’s families are a diverse group, drawn from 70 communities throughout the Minneapolis-St. Paul region. The student body includes a broad representation of religious, ethnic, racial and economic diversity that promotes a spirit of community.

Our lovely campus houses the entire PK-12 school in a single building. Breck encourages interactions among students of various ages, which contribute to a safe, family environment. A widely admired and seasoned professional faculty is dedicated to educating all students. Their expertise in the disciplines, knowledge of pedagogy and love of children combine to create long-lasting relationships between teacher and student. Collegiality among teachers is strong as well, both across and within divisions.
