Sense of Connection
Thanks to our single campus, Breck students have the opportunity to grow and learn together as the center of a truly well-connected educational community.
It starts at the very beginning of the Breck experience. Fourth-grade "biddies" assist their preschool and kindergarten schoolmates at lunch, helping to serve and clean up. Third-grade reading buddies meet Breck's youngest students regularly to enjoy books. Eighth graders help fifth graders adjust to Middle School, and seniors take part in activities, such as a casual dance during the first week of school, designed to acclimate freshmen to the Upper School.
Senior and First-Grade Buddies
Every Breck first grader has a senior buddy. They sit together at all-school Chapels and other events, and meet for monthly activities. The first graders sing to their seniors at Baccalaureate services, and the connection continues post-graduation when the now-second graders write to their former buddies at college.
Bio-Buddies
Breck kindergartners study the human body as part of the Real Science curriculum — which makes them excellent lab partners for seventh-grade science students. Bio-buddies get together for monthly activities that give them all hands-on experience with field research on human growth.
