Parents' Association

All parents belong to the Breck Parents' Association, which sponsors parent education, family community outreach, multicultural events and a wide variety of volunteer programs. We invite you to meet other parents and get involved! Our events and activities are listed on the Breck calendar and through the Monthly Mail, a newsletter to Breck families sent throughout the school year.

Committees and Activities

  • The Family Community Outreach Committee's mission is to help reinforce family values of social responsibility and responsiveness within the Breck community by proactively responding to those in need.
  • The Parent Education Committee hosted several events in 2006-07, which supported our theme of "Strong Parents, Strong Kids."
  • The Multicultural Parent Education Committee provides opportunities for Breck parents to come together, reflect, discuss cultural perspectives and share experiences and challenges of diversity and the ways in which it enriches our community. We have much to learn from each other.
  • The Breck Parent Coalition, established in 2004, exists to support Breck parents in their efforts to prevent and reduce alcohol and drug use by their teens.
  • Breck Recycles - Used Uniform Sales is a committee that promotes recycling and reuse, reducing waste and providing families with an economical alternative to the purchase of brand-new uniforms.
  • The Volunteer Committee publicizes opportunities for parents to volunteer at Breck and also plans our annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day in May.

Before there was a Breck Parents' Association...

In 1960, a recently formed women's auxiliary to Breck was searching out creative ways to raise money for the school. The group hit upon the idea of sponsoring a British Tea event, and inviting members of the Breck Mothers Club and the Women's Board, as well as the mothers of past and present Breck students. The auxiliary set up tables in the Breck dining room and charged a dollar for admission to this sweet feast.
