How to Apply

Breck's admissions process is designed so that the school, student applicant and parents become well enough acquainted to decide whether Breck is the appropriate environment for the student. It is important that interested students and their parents have as much information as possible about Breck. Please visit the campus for a tour.

Day Visits

Day visits let applicants become acquainted with the classroom work and meet faculty members and students. Visits are scheduled Monday through Friday of each week that school is in session. Applicants for admission to first grade spend a morning with the kindergartners. Applicants for admission to grades two through twelve spend a full academic day as guests of Breck students in the applicant's current grade level.

Recommendations

Breck provides all applicants with teacher recommendation forms after receiving the application. Applicants ask teachers who know them well to complete the forms and return them to the Breck admissions office.

Decisions on Applications

February 1, 2010: Deadline for applications. Candidate's application file must be complete to be considered in the first round of decision making.

April 1, 2010: Decision letters mailed to applicants and their parents.

Testing

Candidates for preschool and kindergarten should arrange testing appointments by contacting the admissions office.

All candidates for admission to grades one through twelve are tested at one of the following sessions (8:30 AM-noon):

• Saturday, December 5, 2009
  
• Saturday, January 9, 2010
• Saturday, February 20, 2010
