Admissions Events

At Breck we offer three types of admissions events: Admissions Tours, Open Houses and a Curriculum Information Evening.

Private/Group tours are highly recommended during the admissions process and provide the opportunity for a specialized look at Breck during the school day through the eyes of a current Breck parent.

Open Houses are perfect for parents who want to take a tour of the school and talk to individual teachers/students/parents about the Breck experience. Open Houses are geared towards the entire family and children of all ages are encouraged to attend.

Our Curriculum Information Evening happens once a year and is geared parents who wish to learn more about the curriculum and Breck experience. The evening begins with a talk from Head of School Dr. Natalia Hernandez and includes informational sessions led by our three Division Directors.

You are encouraged come to one or all of these events as you move through the admissions process to learn more about the school. Private Tours

Private tours with a Breck parent run at 9:00am, 10:00am, and 1:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. These tours, which typically run one hour, cover the division(s) most pertinent to your family and your child as well as Breck’s religion, music, art, language, and physical education departments. Tours can be scheduled by calling Jan Lewandowski at 763.381.8200.  

Welcome To Preschool/Kindergarten

Breck runs a specialized tour on Wednesdays throughout the year from 9:30-11:00am for families applying to preschool and kindergarten. This session includes a tour with our Head of Admissions and a Q&A with Lower School Director, Peg Bailey. Spaces are limited, so please preregister using the links below.

Admissions Open Houses

Our November and January Open House events provide families the opportunity to experience all that Breck has to offer. Current faculty, parents, students, and members of the administration will be there to give tours, answer questions, and provide information about the many aspects of life at Breck. This is a great event for the whole family to attend. Childcare is available for children three and older, but we encourage all children, especially those applying for Middle and Upper School, to go on a tour with their family. Curriculum Information Evening with Head of School, Dr. Natalia Hernandez

Our Curriculum Information Evening is the perfect opportunity for parents to get curriculum information at the divisional level. The evening will begin with a talk from Head of School, Dr. Natalia Hernandez, followed by information sessions that focus on specific aspects of the curriculum in the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools. 

In addition to curricular overviews by divisions, parents will also have the chance to choose from a variety of topic specific breakout sessions. A few examples include and are not limited to the following:

Literacy and Writing in the Lower School
Grades 6-8 Advanced Chinese, Spanish, and French for Immersion students and Heritage speakers
3-D Printing and Technology in the Middle School
Advanced Research Programs in the Upper School
The College Counseling Process
Community Engagement
