Upper School
Mary Gentry | Mathematics
Though she was born in Utah, Mary says that Minnesota has always felt like home. "I love the people, the winter landscape and being at Breck. And I'm surrounded by people who challenge me in a really good way."
Tim Rosenfield | History
While some of his Upper School students are Breck "lifers," history teacher Tim Rosenfield is, in a way, a lifer, too. "I've been at Breck since it came to this campus in 1981," he says, "and I've seen a lot of transformation in the study of history — and the nature of students — since then."
Memry Roessler | English
Memry says she's "always wanted to be a teacher" because she loves kids. "I'm so interested in how they think, and in helping them make meaning in their complex lives." She observes that Breck’s physical surroundings are helpful for students and teachers alike. "Our lives are so often off-center," she says, "but this place can make me peaceful and calm. The chapel has an amazing effect."
Michal Sagar | Visual Arts
With her characteristic combination of thoughtfulness and enthusiasm, Visual Arts Department Head Michal Sagar says her position at Breck is her "most rewarding job ever. My colleagues are so committed and capable, the students are so eager to explore, and the atmosphere is one in which the arts are honored."
